Scope of the role
A warehouse sales manager job here is a job about throughput, not floor space. Nobody buys a racking bay. They buy the certainty that a pallet enters a Class A warehouse, clears the bonded warehouse procedure and leaves for the consignee inside an agreed slot. Your work is to describe that service so precisely that the head of logistics on the other side of the table recognises a finished piece of their own supply chain.
3PL business development in Poland means the whole ALB portfolio: warehouse space, the bonded warehouse and its authorised-place status, ADR handling, e-commerce fulfilment and value added services. Your counterparts are heads of logistics, owners of manufacturing companies and e-commerce operations managers, in Silesia and across the country. You carry a deal from the first call to a signed warehousing agreement, then hand the client to operations.
Sales cycles here run long. Replacing a 3PL provider takes months and several people sign off on it, so results come from an orderly pipeline rather than from speed. One signature can be worth half a year of conversations, and the compensation model is built around exactly that.
What we expect
- Experience selling 3PL services — warehousing, fulfilment or customs handling.
- Warehousing contracts you have closed and can walk us through: size, how long the talks ran, what tipped the client's decision.
- Working relationships on the client side: heads of logistics, supply chain managers, owners of manufacturing and e-commerce businesses.
- A habit of discussing the process instead of the price list. Quotes are built together with operations, not alone in a spreadsheet.
- Discipline in the pipeline: your own target list, meeting notes and a forecast that survives a weekly review.
- Category B driving licence and readiness to travel to client meetings.
- Polish at working level for the domestic market, and English for international accounts (imports from China, exports within the EU).
What the role gives you
- Commission calculated on contract margin with no ceiling, paid for as long as the agreement runs.
- Arguments that physically exist: 8,500 m² of our own space at Mackiewicza 1, a licensed bonded warehouse, authorised-place status, ADR handling and e-commerce fulfilment under one roof.
- Contract terms agreed straight with the board — no head office abroad, no waiting on a sign-off from another country.
- Operations in the room when you quote: the warehouse manager and the customs agency join client conversations when a case needs them.
- Car, phone and laptop; Katowice as your base, the rest of the week split between meetings and your own work.
The first 90 days
The warehouse from inside
You learn the hall, the ADR zone and the bonded warehouse procedures, from goods receipt to closing a customs procedure. You shadow the warehouse manager and the customs agency, sit in on two live onboardings, and get far enough into the WMS to answer a client yourself about what the system will and will not show. By the end of the month you can explain why bonded warehouse careers in Katowice look nothing like renting out square metres.
Conversations of your own
You build a list of forty companies from the region and from sectors you already know. You book the first meetings with heads of logistics, bring prospects to the hall for a site visit, and prepare your first quotes together with operations. The rhythm that will stay with you settles in: call, warehouse visit, offer.
The first signatures
You close a first or second warehousing agreement and hand the client over to onboarding. You set quarterly targets with the board and can already tell how much of your pipeline will actually reach a signature. From here the role stops being training and starts being a number.
Questions candidates ask
How is the compensation structured?
Base salary plus commission on the margin the contract produces, paid for the whole life of the warehousing agreement rather than only in the month it is signed. There is no ceiling on it. The base range is settled at the second interview, once we both know the scope.
Do I inherit a client list?
You get the companies ALB has talked to before without reaching a signature, plus inbound enquiries from the website and campaigns. That is a starting point rather than a finished portfolio — the rest you rebuild from your own contacts in the sector.
How long does a warehousing sales cycle run?
Three to nine months from first contact to signature. Shorter for seasonal projects and peak overflow, longer when a client moves an entire warehouse away from another 3PL provider. That is why the role is measured by quarters rather than weeks.
Do I need customs expertise on day one?
No. You need enough of it to recognise when a bonded warehouse and authorised-place status genuinely save a client money — the paperwork sits with the customs agency working on site with us. Most of your first month goes into exactly this.
Is the role fully remote?
No. It is hybrid: client meetings and independent work from wherever suits you, but you come back to the hall at Mackiewicza 1 regularly and bring clients there. A walk through the warehouse closes more conversations than a deck does.
Who decides the contract terms?
The ALB board, after talking to you and to operations. There is no head office in another country and no committee that answers in a fortnight — an unusual term can be settled in a single meeting.

Key Client Manager (opens in a new tab)
Holding a handful of large freight forwarding contracts rather than chasing new logos. Motiva Solutions runs road and intermodal forwarding across Europe — same ownership, a different daily job.
MTEAMKey Account Manager (opens in a new tab)
Talking to Western European importers about ocean, air and rail freight. MTEAM moves the cargo that is still on its way to the Katowice warehouse — the better fit if corridors interest you more than square metres.
Applications
Send a CV by email — the file plus two sentences about contracts you have closed is enough. We reply within five working days. Recruitment runs as two conversations: the first online, the second at Mackiewicza 1 in Katowice, with a walk through the hall. Very few logistics sales jobs in Poland let you agree terms directly with the board; this is one of them.
